Kenneth Spradlin, Sr.

Kenneth R. Spradlin, Sr., 69, of Chillicothe, died Saturday afternoon in his home following an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 27, 1943, in Baltimore, Md., to the late Burnett and Mary Ruth (King) Spradlin. On March 4, 1961, he married Shirley Ann Charlton, who survives.

Also surviving are his sons and daughters-in-law Tim (Kim) Spradlin, of Cincinnati; Ken, Jr. (Maria) Spradlin, Beaver; Terry (Cathy) Spradlin, Waverly; Scott (Kimberly) Spradlin, Minford; and Cameron (Ginger) Spradlin, Chillicothe; daughter and son-in-law Robin (Martin) Adams, Beaver; 19 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers Bob (Gwen) Spradlin, Waverly; and Doug Spradlin, Beaver; three sisters Patty (Keith) Shonkwiler, of Portsmouth; Joyce (Willis) Hickman, Dayton; and Glenda (Dan) Van Fossen, Kettering. He was predeceased by his father, his mother Mary Farris and step-father Arnold “Bill” Farris; a sister and brother-in-law Shirley Jean (Homer “Bill”) Kight; a brother Dale Spradlin and several aunts and uncles.

Ken was a retired carpet layer. He worked for Samuel Levi & Co. in Portsmouth, Main Floor Covering in Dayton and then most recently for himself.

At his request, cremation services will be held under the direction of Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Adena Health Foundation, Friends of Hospice, 111 W. Water St., Chillicothe, Ohio 45601.
