Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said that at approximately 1:30 p.m. Thursday detectives from the Scioto County Sheriff’s office executed a narcotics search warrant at the residence of James Sexton, Jr. in Lucasville.

James Sexton, Jr., 37, of 241 A Jackson St., Lucasville has been arrested and charged with possession of heroin, a felony of the second degree.

Donini said narcotics detectives obtained a search warrant for the Sexton residence after collecting evidence of drug trafficking taking place at that residence.

Upon execution of the warrant officers seized approximately 12 grams of heroin, prescription medication such as Oxycontin, marijuana, cash and firearms.

Sexton was taken to the Scioto County Jail and held on a $15,000 bond. The case will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor for consideration of additional charges.

In a separate arrest, reports state a body cavity search warrant was executed at Southern Ohio Medical Center resulting in trafficking and possession charges involving heroin against Mark A. Eubanks, 27, of 2417 South Fifth St., Ironton.

At approximately 10:45 p.m. Thursday detectives reportedly executed a body cavity search warrant on Mark Eubanks after detectives obtained a search warrant for his person after the sting operation where they say heroin was allegedly ordered from Eubanks to be delivered to the Lucasville area.

Eubanks was taken to SOMC where the search was performed and personnel located approximately 21 grams of heroin. Eubanks’ possession of heroin charge and trafficking in heroin charge are both felonies of the second degree, and he was jailed on a $30,000 bond.

Donini said he would like to request anyone wishing to leave drug information to contact the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit at (740) 351-1094. Donini said all information will be kept confidential and anonymous.
