LUCASVILLE —A Lucasville man died after being thrown from his vehicle in an auto accident in Valley Township Friday.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Michael Brigner, 44, of Lucasville, was driving south on Coon Hollow Road in an 1987 Jeep at 11:45 a.m. Friday. The Jeep went off the west side of the road, over-corrected, and then drove off the east side of the road. The vehicle struck an embankment and overturned onto its right side.

Brigner was not wearing a seat belt, and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation by the Portsmouth Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
