Robert C. Murray, 87, of Dick Road, Waverly, Ohio, died 11:20 a.m. Sunday, June 17, 2012, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio. Robert was born Aug. 5, 1924, in Waverly, Ohio, the son of the late Lonnie Jasper Murray and Eliza Frances (Cisco) Murray. On April 13, 1952, he was united in marriage to Helen (Barker) Murray who survives.
Surviving are two children, Robert Lee Murray of Ft Myers, Fla. and Patricia Murray Carroll and husband Raymond E. of Naples, Fla., two grandchildren, Carlin (Betsy) Mitchell and husband Matt of Des Moines, Iowa, and Robert Carroll and wife Nikki of Naples, Fla. and three great-grandchildren, Carter and Benjamin Mitchell and Austin Carroll and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, four brothers, Arnold, Arvil, Raney and Aaron Murray and two sisters, Margaret Alice Oyer and Thelma Murray preceded Robert in death.
Mr. Murray was a former co owner of Seal Builders, Murray Construction, owner operator of Latham Limestone, farmer and a longtime member of the Pike County Fair Board.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday June 21, 2012, at the BOYER FUNERAL HOME, in Waverly with Pastor David Burriss and Brother Cecil Murray, officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Union Cemetery, Denver Road, Waverly, Ohio. Friends may call at the funeral home 5 - 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday.
