John Pollitt, 62, of Portsmouth, died Thursday, June 7, 2012 at SOMC Hospice. He was born September 23, 1949 to the late Maywood Pollitt and Beulah McKinney Pollitt.

He was formerly employed by Childers Music, and Diamond Gem Lending Company.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Peggy Neu Pollitt; one daughter, Jessica Pollitt (Jason Young) of Charleston, West Virginia; two step-children, Amanda (Rod) Sparks of Sciotoville and Christopher (Stephanie) Neu of Portsmouth; and eight grandchildren, Daisy Layne Hudson, Colten Sparks, Olivia Neu, Layla Neu, R.J. Sparks, Hayley Sparks, Lilliana Young and Riley Young.

Visitation will be 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2012 at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth. Immediately following visitation at Daehlers, there will be a celebration of John’s life, which will be held at the New Boston Eagles.
