David Shane Looney, 34 of St. Rt. 124 Piketon, Ohio, died Monday June 4, 2012, at the Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born on May 12, 1978, in Portsmouth, Ohio, and is the son of Brenda Williams Lykins of Piketon and the late Gary Looney.

He was united in marriage on May 15, 1998, to Tasha Deneice Abrams Looney, who survives. Also surviving are one son: Jiles Edgar Looney of Piketon; two daughters: Kadiah Rachae Looney and Alijah Dawn Looney both of Piketon; his step mother, Elaine Looney of Piketon, and his step father, Glendale Lykins also of Piketon; brothers: Jeffrey Allen Looney, Jeremy Lykins, Brad Lykins and Johnny Zach Lykins all of Piketon, and Chad Lykins of Peebles; step brothers: Steve Entler and Shane Bays both of Piketon, and Trent Bays of Columbus; one step sister, Wendy Richards of Piketon; sisters-in-law: Tabitha Kelly of Wheelersburg, and Melissa Hechert of Columbus. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Anthony Bays, and William Kelly Lykins.

He was a truck driver and was employed with Clayton and Julie Trucking Co. of Waverly.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Larry Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the Bethel Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11 a.m. at the funeral home.
