A single-car crash has resulted in the death of a Kentucky man. Greenup County Deputy Larry Pancake said James Williams, 52, of Flatwoods was killed after being thrown from his vehicle in a rollover crash, about 7:15 p.m. Saturday on U.S. 23 in Wurtland.

Deputy Matt Smith of the Greenup County Sheriff’s Office, the lead investigator, confirmed there was one fatality in that wreck, but the name had been withheld until Monday when the family had been notified.

Pancake said Williams overcorrected his steering, allowing the vehicle to go out of control.

“He was ejected. He wasn’t wearing a seat belt,” Pancake said. “The car started rolling, and he got thrown out the passenger side, and the car ran over him.”

Pancake said the crash remains under investigation.
