Joseph Taylor Price, 94, of Portsmouth, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at Ohio State University Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 7, 1917, in Portsmouth, to the late Ora W. Price and Laura Distel Price.

He was a retired surveyor for the city of Portsmouth, and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and a Notre Dame fan and Cincinnati Reds fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy M. Price, June 7, 2011; a son, John Edward Price; and a brother, Vincent Price.

He is survived by one son, Gary (Karen) Price of Portsmouth, Ohio; four daughters, Laura (Jim) Goodman of Lucasville, Ohio, Debbie (John) Cantrell of Columbus, Patty (Richard) Westmeyer of Toledo, Ohio, and Joan (Lee) McSweeney of Wheelersburg, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation.

Arrangements are under the direction of F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth.
