Waverly Police Chief Larry Roe says two search warrants executed overnight Wednesday in connection with the sale of illegal drugs, has resulted in charges filed against two Waverly men, Christopher Mullett, 22, and Jeremy Ray Cutlip, 21, both of 219 Walnut St.

Officers of the Waverly Police Department Special Response Team began at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, by executing its first search warrant at 219 Walnut St. At 1:23 a.m. the second warrant was executed at 501 E. Fourth St.

Roe said several subjects were detained at the Walnut Street residence during the investigation. Mullett was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Cutlip was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of drug abuse instruments.

Roe said the investigation is continuing and more charges will be forthcoming.

“Once we get finished up, the cases will be put together, and then they’ll get presented to the grand jury,” Roe said.
