Donald William Clark Sr., 72, of Portsmouth, passed away Jan. 29, 2009, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

He was born July 11, 1936, to the late Wayne Stevens Clark Sr. and Florence Lillian Bond Clark.

Don was a retired engineer for the Norfolk and Western Railroad. He was honored with a star on the floodwall for Transportation.

Don was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, a graduate of Portsmouth High School, special deputy, poll worker, and president of the “Four Seasons Camera Club.”

Surviving are his daughters, Catherine Clark of Philadelphia, Pa., Donna West of Portsmouth, and Carol Clark of Vacaville, Calif.; his son, Donald William (Jeannette) Clark Jr. of Portsmouth; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brothers, Wayne Stevens (Patricia) Clark Jr. of New Boston, and Thomas Clark of Columbia, S.C.; his devoted sister, Julia Clark of Portsmouth; his fiance, Connie Rich and her family; and many nieces and nephews.

Don was of the Presbyterian faith.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday at F.C. Daehler Mortuary Company in Portsmouth, with Pastor Ralph Clay officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. and also one hour before the service on Monday.

Military rites will be conducted by the Honor Detail of James Dickey Post 23 American Legion at Daehlers at the conclusion of the funeral.
