Ruth Eileen Criswell, 84, of Lucasville, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at SOMC Hospice.

She was born Sept. 29, 1927, in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Richard and Virgie Inlow Blake.

She was a homemaker and a 1945 Washington High School graduate.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Criswell, May 28, 1996; two grandsons; and one sister, Naomi Hartstein.

She is survived by one son, Richard (Bonnie) Criswell of Piketon; two daughters, Mary Jayne (Dave) Crabtree of Lucasville and Sara Kephas of Lee Summit, Missouri; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Virginia Froman and Nancy Andre, both of Friendship.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Saturday, May 12, 2012, at the Pleasant Valley Branch of the Community of Christ with her nephew Robert Appleton officiating. Burial will follow in Scioto Burial Park. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville.
