Green High School to host Alumni Banquet


The 2012 Green High School Alumni Banquet will be held Saturday, May 12, in the high school gymnasium with registration beginning at 5:30 p.m. All graduates of Green High School are invited to attend. The “Green Got Talent” show will be featuring seven acts competing for a grand prize of $100. There will be a silent auction to raise funds for the Student Scholarships and Alumni Association, as well as a Zumba Dance performed by the senior class. Admission is $5 per person and a side dish. The main course and beverages will be provided.


The Alumni Association will award two graduating seniors the Ralph Mullins Scholarship. Each recipient will be awarded $750. Elroy Whitaker of the Class of 1954 will be this year’s Hall of Fame honoree. The Class of 1962 will be the featured class. Any questions, please call 740-574-8352 or 740-574-2717.


Albertson earns Christian Leadership Scholarship


WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. – University of the Cumberlands recently announced that 33 students have been named Christian Leadership Scholar honorees for the 2012-2013 school year. Each student will be receiving a $1000 scholarship.


Locally, Susan Albertson of South Shore, Ky., received the scholarship.


UC’s Christian Leadership Scholarship program acknowledges the contributions of deserving students to their churches and to other Christian organizations. In doing so, the university is making an investment in the lives of the students selected for these scholarships and in the future of the organizations they represent.


Located in Williamsburg, Ky., University of the Cumberlands is an institution of regional distinction, which currently offers four undergraduate degrees in more than 40 major fields of study; nine pre-professional programs; seven graduate degrees, including a doctorate and six master’s degrees; certifications in education; and online programs.
