John D. Nelson, 57, of South Shore, Ky., died Saturday April 28, 2012, at his residence. He was born in Portsmouth, Ohio, Oct. 25, 1954, a son of the late George Nelson and Thelma Jean Cooper Nelson.

He was a Electrician, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother.

Surviving are two sons, Johnny “Tammy” Nelson and George Ryan Nelson, both of South Shore, Ky.; and one daughter, Michelle “Daniel” Teeters of McDermott, Ohio; four sisters, Ruthan Fannin of South Shore, Ky., Louella Maynard of Franklin Furnace, Ohio, Bonita Carman of Defiance, Ohio, and Belinda Frank of Kansas City, Missouri; six grandchildren, Justin Nelson, Megan Nelson, John Michael Nelson, MacKenzie Nelson, Abey Teeters and Brandi Hunt; two great-grandchildren, Carlee Hunt and Aubree Hunt.

Memorial services will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Funeral services by the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky.
