The children of Larry and Charlotte Buckler of Millers Run of Lucasville announce the 61st wedding anniversary of their parents.
Married in April 1951, the Bucklers began their relationship apart, for Larry enlisted in the Army and was stationed in Korea for the Korean conflict. Later, they reunited and lived in Fort Riley, Kansas, before he was stationed in Germany, England and France. After his honorable discharge from the Army, the Bucklers settled in Lucasville where both were employees at the Piketon Atomic Plant. Charlotte became a stay-at-home-mother and eventually became the owner and operator of Tantalizing Tan in Minford, and later Larry became a long-term member of the Laborers Union, Local 83, Portsmouth, Ohio, from which he later retired.
In 1957, they began parenthood by having their first child, Barry Allen, who is a local attorney and retired pipefitter. In 1959, they welcomed a second child, Terry Eugene, who is currently teaching in Covington, Ky. They continued adding to their family in 1965 and 1966 with two additional children, Jerry Lee, a Portsmouth attorney, and current candidate for the Domestic Relations judge, and Lisa Dawn (Harley), Valley High School principal. They are proud grandparents of nine. In addition, they currently have one great-grandson.
The family will be celebrating the anniversary at a private dinner at the residence of the Bucklers on Sunday, April 29.
