Boyd Carter, 78, of South Shore, Ky., went to be with his Lord on Thursday, April 19, 2012, at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio. He was born at Argillite, Ky., on March 21, 1934, a son of the late Chester Carter and Pearl Woods Carter.
He was a retired farmer and a member of the Plumb Fork Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by his wives, Rosemary Howell Carter, May 5, 1968, and Wilda Howell Wolfe, Aug. 24, 2009; one stepson, Lynn Wolfe; three brothers, Earl, Lloyd and Willie Douglas Carter; three sisters, Jowanda Howard, Ruhumah Crider and Feyern Hall.
Surviving are two sons, Herbie and Rodney Carter, both of South Shore, Ky.; one daughter, Mary Ann “Brad” Williamson of Tollesboro, Ky.; four stepsons, Tim “Bonnie” Wolfe of Clay City, Ind., Jim Wolfe of Argilite, Ky., Rock Wolfe of South Shore, Ky., and Randall “Dianne” Wolfe of West Portsmouth, Ohio; one sister, Juanita Braden of Lloyd, Ky.; one granddaughter, Autumn Rose Williamson; 12 step-grandchildren and several great-step-grandchildren.
Funeral services 2 p.m. Sunday, April 22, 2012, at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Charles Emmons and Brother, Earnie McKenzie, officiating.
Burial in McGuire Cemetery, Greenup, Ky.
Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday, and from noon until the funeral hour at 2 p.m. on Sunday.
