Rev. William Franklin Colley, 79, of Lucasville, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, April 14, 2012, at SOMC Hospice.

He was born April 8, 1933, in McDermott, Ohio, a son of the late George Washington and Rena Estill Emmons Colley.

Bill was a former employee of Portsmouth Casting and M&J Welding. He was the current pastor of the church at Pleasant Hill and served as the former pastor at Big Run Community Church for 22 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.

He is survived by four daughters, Diana Colley of Lucasville, Peggy Jones of Portsmouth, Rebecca (Doug) Howard of West Portsmouth and Peggy (Andy) Bartee of McDermott; two sons, Rick Colley of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Tim (Angel) Colley of Piketon; 15 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother, Don Colley of McDermott; and three sisters, Emma Vicars of Wheelersburg, Dorothy Tackett of McDermott and Florence Cooper of Lucasville.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Winona Louise Tatman Colley, March 7, 1997; one son, Scotty Neal Colley; one grandson, Steven Howard; one great-granddaughter, Audrina Capri Colley; one brother, Preston Colley; and two sisters, Faye Colley and Annie Hilt.

Funeral services will be conducted at noon, Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at the McCullough Baptist Church with Harold Hoffer and Elmer “Bubby” Stevens officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery where graveside military rites will be performed by the William A. Baker and James Irwin Posts of the American Legion. Friends may call 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday at the McKinley Funeral Home in Lucasville and from 11 a.m. until noon Wednesday at the church.
