William Edward Potter, 75, went to be with his Lord, Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his residence in South Shore, Ky. He was born in Greenup Co., Ky. Aug. 16, 1936, a son the late Reuben Potter and Susie Colburn Potter.

He was retired from the Norfolk and Southern Railroad, as a Carman and of the Baptist Faith.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ruben Potter Jr.

Surviving are his wife, Noretta Brown Potter, of South Shore, Ky., to whom he married Aug. 16, 1957; three sons, Stephen “Kristi” Potter, Danny “Deanna” Potter and William “Bill” Potter, all of South Shore, Ky.; three daughters, Susan (Steve) Austin, Vickie (Greg) Reed, both of South Shore, Ky., and Patty (Matt) Howerton of South Portsmouth, Ky.; one sister, Hazel (Mint) Traylor of South Shore, Ky.; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, 2012, at the Roberson Funeral Home Chapel, with Elder Clayton Oliver, officiating. Burial will be in Warnock Cemetery on Laurel Road, Greenup, Ky.

Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Thursday.
