Update those resumes and polish up your interview skills for the annual job fair on Wednesday, March 28, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the Sodexo Ballroom in the Shawnee State University Center. Sponsored by the Office of Career Services the job fair is open to all SSU students and alumni.
Director of Career Services Steve Gregory said the job fair will provide opportunities for full- and part-time jobs as well as internships and summer employment. Gregory said representatives from graduate schools and representatives from the Armed Forces will also participate.
Gregory said the job fair will offer formal interview areas for businesses and computers will be set up for students and alumni to conduct online job searches.
“We want our students and alumni to be able to log onto the new College Central Network system which is our new online job board,” Gregory said. “In addition to jobs listed specifically for Shawnee State students and alumni the network also features a national job data base, as well as career advice documents, career videos and podcasts.”
Students and alumni who would like to participate in the formal interviews can pre-register through March 23 by contacting Gregory at 740-351-3259 or firstname.lastname@example.org. He said students must bring their resumes with them when they register to Room 205 in the University Center.
Prior to the job fair, Gregory is available to give classroom presentations on resume writing, cover letter preparation, interviewing skills and tips on how to prepare for the job fair. He advised those who participate in the job fair to bring their resumes, dress appropriately and to research the company before their interview.
