Carl Douglas “Dougie” Tackett Jr., age 30, of Otway, died March 8, 2012, of a gunshot injury. He was born November 13, 1981, in Portsmouth, Ohio. He is survived by his father and stepmother, Carl Douglas Tackett Sr. and Dina Tackett of Otway; his mother, Delena Kay Tackett of Piketon, Ohio; two children, Brianna Tackett, ten years old, and Chase Tackett, six years old; their mother, Lisa Pollitt of Lucasville, Ohio; two sisters, Shannon Young and husband James of Piketon, Ohio, and Tracie Brumfield and husband Terry of Lucasville, Ohio; one half sister, Latosha Pollard and husband James of Lucasville, Ohio; three half brothers, Tyler Estep of Otway, Justin Ponder of Otway, and Heath Carver of Lucasville; nieces, Kayla Young, Ashlee Adkins, and Brooke Brumfield; nephews, Blake Bailey, Austin Atkins, and Scotty Tackett, all of Lucasville. Dougie also had four stepdaughters, Whitney, Felicia, Kaleigh, and Torri Woodrow that were the children of his fiancé, Patricia Woodrow of Portsmouth. He will be sadly missed by family and friends and especially by his children. We love you Dougie. He was preceded in death by one brother, Derrick Tackett; and Tiny; and nephew Gage. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Otway with Wayne Colley officiating. Burial will follow in Puckett Cemetery.
