OSHP seize cocaine, marijuana during traffic stop

WAVERLY — A trooper with the Chillicothe Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol stopped a vehicle at 6:33 p.m. Monday on U.S. 23 in Pike County for a traffic violation, according to a press release from the OSHP.

Criminal indicators were observed, the release stated, and the Waverly Police Department responded to assist. Troopers said a search found 87 grams of cocaine and more than a half-pound of marijuana in the vehicle. The driver, Tevin L. Hairston, 21, of Williamson, W.Va., was charged with possession and trafficking of drugs, both first-degree felonies.

He was incarcerated in the Scioto County jail.
