Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini says a Portsmouth man has been arrested on a felony theft charge. Donini said his office received a call Sunday from a woman who told authorities she was shopping at Lowe’s and while inside someone broke into her vehicle stealing a purse and several credit cards.

Donini said the Porter Township Community Policing Deputy responded and identified a possible suspect, and deputies responded to a Offnere Street location in Portsmouth where the suspect, Raymond Queen, 50 of Portsmouth was detained and later charged with the theft. Donini said deputies recovered the purse. Donini said Queen used the stolen credit card at Walmart in New Boston.

Queen was charged with felony theft. Donini said anyone with information regarding the case should contact the Sheriff’s Office at 740-354-7566. He said all calls will remain anonymous.
