Maurice Lonnie Keibler, 83, of South Shore, Ky., died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, in Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. He was born in Letitia, Ky., on Dec. 12, 1928, a son of the late Abe Keibler and Olive Smith Keibler.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran, retired electrician for the N.W. Railroad, a member of the South Shore First Church of God, Kentucky Colonel, member of the James L. Flannery American Legion Post #276 of South Shore, Ky., avid Bowler and Gardner and a UK Basketball fan.

Surviving are his wife, Genevieve Morman Keibler to whom he married July 4, 1953; three daughters, Connie Keibler of Lloyd, Ky., Rhonda Thompson of South Shore, Ky., and Marsha Stewart of Portsmouth; one brother, Don Keibler of South Shore, Ky.; and two sisters, Evelyn Newell of St. Paul, Ky., and Betty Webb of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren, Amy Wilson, Stacey Carver, Wesley Thompson, Erica Thompson, Leigh Stewart and Travis Stewart; 10 great-grandchildren, Eric, Levi, Brandon, Bryan, Kathryn, Raylynn, Lexi, Jackson, Luke and Colby. He was preceded in death by one sister, Nidreth Adkins; and one brother, John Richard Keibler.

Funeral services have been entrusted to Roberson Funeral Home of South Shore, Ky., and will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at the South Shore Church of God on Main Street in South Shore, Ky., with Rev. Dave Devoll, officiating. Interment will be in Siloam Cemetery, South Shore, Ky. Friends may call at the South Shore First Church of God on Main Street from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday and from 10 a.m. until the funeral hour on Wednesday.
