Kenneth L. Wymer, 90, of Minford, died Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
Born Feb, 15, 1921, in Lucasville, he was the son of the late Lawrence F. and Norma I. Martin Wymer, he was a machinist at Portsmouth Times and was owner/operator of Wymers Used Cars in Minford. He was a past Master of Lucasville Masonic Lodge #465, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason Valley of Cincinnati, he was a member of the Lucasville Order of Eastern Star #495, member of James Irwin Post 622 American Legion and he was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by one son, Kenneth C. (Aloma) Wymer of Minford; two granddaughters, Kelly (Doug) Pratt of Minford, Christi Wymer of Minford; one great-grandson, Ryan (Sara) Wymer; four sisters, Marjorie Dever of Lucasville, Violet Fannin of Minford, Betty Bradshaw of Lucasville, Joyce Ann (Harold) Alexander of Dayton; and three sisters-in-law, Eloise Wymer of Arizona, Ruth Santo of Rocky River and Joyce Wymer of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Odetta Chandler Wymer on Jan. 4, 2004; and two brothers, Howard Wymer and Donald L. Wymer.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford. Masonic services will be conducted at 1 p.m. by Lucasville Masonic Lodge #465. Burial will be in Bennett Cemetery in Minford. Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. today.
Military graveside rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion and William A. Baker Post No. 363. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662.
