Naomi Hartstein, 86, of West Portsmouth, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, at Southern Ohio Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 18, 1925, in Portsmouth, to the late Richard and Virginia Blake. Naomi was retired from Shawnee State University where she worked for 20 years.
Along with her parents Naomi was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Hartstein, and a daughter, Sandra Crawford.
Naomi is survived by two daughters, Chris Hartstein of West Portsmouth and Peggy (Randy) Boyle of Cincinnati; three sisters, Eileen Criswell of Piketon, Ginny Lou Froman and Nancy Andre both of West Portsmouth; three grandchildren, Julie Brossious, Lori Crawford and Megan Boyle; three great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Jimmy and Alex.
Naomi was a lover of animals and currently had a faithful companion “Buddie.”
The family requests that donations be made to Sierra’s Haven, 80 Easter Drive, Portsmouth, Ohio, in Naomi’s name. There will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Roger W. Davis Funeral Home in West Portsmouth.
