Leah Gladys Legg, age 91, of St. Rt. 772, Rarden , Ohio, died Tuesday, December 20, 2011, at S.O.M.C. Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio. She was born January 12, 1920, in Grundy, Virginia, a daughter of the late Jacob Gilbert and Louise Ratliff VanDyke. On November 24, 1934, she was united in marriage to Roy Everette Legg who preceded her in death December 7, 1995. Surviving are 7 daughters, Phyllis Woods of Lorain, Ohio, June Dunham and husband Joe of Ashville, Ohio, Joan Havens and husband Robert of Lancaster, Ohio, Joyce Dunn of Lucasville, Ohio, Sherry Daneault of Columbus, Ohio, Jennifer and husband Rev. Danny Eitel of Waverly, Ohio, and Jill Barch and husband Eddie of Waverly, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; Ruth Bowen, Wade Dunham, Kim Havens, Jeffrey Blanton, April Blanton, Anita Dunn, Everett Dunn, Lafe Dunn, Marcel Daneault Jr., Gannon Daneault, Tadd Branum, Jessica Branum and Carma Baker; 18 great-grandchildren, Randall Bowen, Susanna Bowen, Jessica Dunham, Andy Dunham, Jill Dunham, Maria Gillum, Jonathan Havens, Jevic Dunn, Adrien Dunn, Garrett Blanton, David L. Dunn, Marcel “Marc” Daneault III, Nathan Daneault, Mack Branum, Maura Branum, Gwen McCreery, Livia Baker and Wyeth Baker: 4 great-great-grandchildren, Gavin Dunham, Mica Tussing, Hannah Gillum and Trace Blanton; two brothers, Roy VanDyke of Peebles, Ohio, and Jacob “Linc” VanDyke of Sierra Vista, Arizona; and one sister, Faye Franklin of Crossville, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Earl and Elmer VanDyke; three sisters; Grace Chancey, Minnie Merritt and Edna Vandyke; and one granddaughter, Cara Jane Woods.

Mrs. Legg was a member of United Baptist Faith and a homemaker.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Botkin Funeral Home in Waverly with Rev. Danny Eitel officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Etna Cemetery.
