Jack Eugene Moore, 76, of Rt. 7, South Shore, Ky., passed away, Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, in SOMC Hospice, Portsmouth.

Mr. Moore was born June 28, 1935, in Wheelersburg; a son of the late J.C. and Bessie Green Moore. He was a delivery truck driver for Stan Harvey Gas Co. in South Shore. He was a member of Allen Chapel Church of Christ And enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting.

He was preceded in death by one brother Bill Moore; and two sisters Betty Fraley and Joanne Schisler.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years Hazel Hunt Moore; one daughter Sharon (Ray) Spears of South Shore, Ky.; three sons Doug (Carolyn) Moore of Greensboro, N.C., Mike (Judy) Moore of West Portsmouth, and Mark (Julie) Moore of South Shore; three brothers Otis Moore of Raleigh, N.C., Dick Moore of Wheelersburg, and Ronnie Moore of Camden, N.J.; four sisters Wilma Pherson of San Francisco, Calif., Irene Lewis of Columbus, Patricia Snook of Pontiac, Mich., and Mary Lee Adkins of Wheelersburg; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup by Brother Harold Dupuy. Burial will be in Liberty Cemetery, Rt. 7, South Shore. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until funeral time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
