Gary D. Gilliam, 64, of London, Ohio, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at Kobacker House in Columbus, surrounded by his family.
Gary was a born on Aug. 12, 1947, in Portsmouth. He was a 1965 graduate of Clay High School. He retired from CSX Railroad in 2007 after 40 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Diane, in 2005, and his youngest son Todd in 2009.
He is survived by a grandson, Kyle, and a granddaughter, Kaleigh; Todd’s children and their mother, Ellen Butler, oldest son, Tony, all of West Jefferson, Ohio; his beloved mother, Lillian Conley of Columbus; older brother Joe (Linda) Gilliam, of Columbus; sister Linda Constable (fiancé, Mike) of Bethel, Ohio; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jack and Grace Maynard of Wheelersburg; sister-in-law Pam (Mike) Patton of Franklin Furnace; special nephew Eric (Cherish) Gilliam of Grove City, Ohio; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Gary was a beloved friend and had many friends in London, Portsmouth and Columbus, as well as wonderful neighbors who looked out for him and his dog, Kipsy.
Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2011, at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home with Rev. Don Noel officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Burial Park, 10556 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, Ohio. Viewing for family and friends will be at Harrison-Pyles Funeral Home 11623 Gallia Pike, Wheelersburg, Ohio, on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
