A Lucasville couple has been arrested after detectives say they confiscated$745 cash and 114 suspected Oxycodone pills with a street value of $3,420.
George Meade, 46, of 66 Elmwood Ave. is charged with two counts of possession of drugs and trafficking in drugs. Shana Meade, 39, of the same address is charged with trafficking in drugs. All charges are felonies.
According to Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini, Sheriff’s Office detectives apprehended Meade during a traffic stop on Ohio 728 in Lucasville about 6:50 p.m.
About 7:50 p.m., detectives searched Meade’s residence in Lucasville and said they seized an undetermined amount of marijuana, additional suspected narcotics, and drug paraphernalia. Shana Meade was also arrested at that time.
Both George and Shana Meade were placed in the Scioto County Jail. After being arraigned in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Thursday, George Meade is being held on a $55,000 bond, while Shana Meade is being held on a $25,000 bond.
Cases against both Meades will be forwarded to the Scioto County Prosecutor’s Office to be presented to a Scioto County grand jury for the consideration of additional charges.
