Donald L. Crisp, 77, of Portsmouth, died Tuesday, November 1, 2011, at SOMC. He was born May 23, 1934, in Portsmouth, to the late Raymond I. Crisp and Hilda Walker Crisp.

He retired from Martin Marietta. He had also been a bus driver for Vern Riffe DD School. A master baker, he had worked for many years at the Sixth Street Bake Shop and then went to work in the bakery at the Nancy Rae Supermarket in Wheelersburg.

Don was a member of Temple Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, a bus driver, in the Auditorium Bible Class and was its song leader, and also sang in the choir for many years. He was an avid hunter, and enjoyed woodworking.

Don is survived by his wife, Pat Donathan Crisp; two sons, Kenneth (Stacey) Crisp of Waverly, and Greg (Chelsea) Crisp of Dayton; three grandchildren Tyler, Sara, and Alex Crisp; three step-grandchildren, Beth, Stella, and Kelly Meyers; five step-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lillian Stevens of Redlands, California, Patty Shover and Barbara (Clarence) Hook of South Shore, Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Crisp.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2011, at F. C. Daehler Mortuary in Portsmouth with Pastor John Gowdy officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Daehlers.
