She was born April 22, 1917, in Sciotoville, to Thurman and Clara Yeley Emory. She worked at all the Portsmouth bowling lanes as a desk clerk. She loved to cook, and enjoyed gardening and bowling. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Clarice is survived by her husband, Arthur of Wheelersburg; two grandchildren, Julie Stamper of Portsmouth and Tami (Jeff) Pinson of Portsmouth; four great-grandchildren, Jeff (Nicola) Pinson, Nathaniel (Wendy) Pinson, Cassie (Jason) Patten and Aaron Pinson; three great-great-granddaughters, Zalen and Izabel Pinson, and Taylor Grace Patten.
She was preceded in death by one son, John "Butch" Cunningham; one daughter, Carolyn Cunningham Stamper; and four sisters, Aurilla Shaner, Wilma Coriell, Phyllis Cummins and Roberta Gillen.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2008, at the Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville, with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Wheelersburg. Friends may call Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour before the service at the funeral home.
