A vehicle accident Saturday morning has claimed the life of a 36-year-old Garrison, Ky., man.
The Lewis County Sheriff's Department in Vanceburg, Ky., said Robert Bloomfield was westbound on Kentucky 8 when he lost control of his vehicle. According to the report, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the road, over an embankment and overturned. The vehicle then came to rest on the railroad tracks below the roadway, and Bloomfield was ejected from the vehicle.
According to the report, Bloomfield was pronounced dead at the scene by Lewis County Coroner Tony Gaydor.
The accident remains under investigation by deputies Jason Hill and Gary Sparks, who were assisted at the scene by Firebrick, Ky., Fire and Rescue and MedCorp Ambulance Service.
