William B. Diller, 80, of West Portsmouth, died Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2008, at his home.

He was born July 10, 1928, in Portsmouth, to the late Clyde Ernest and Lula Marie Shope Diller. Bill was retired from Ohio Power after 30 years of service. He was a former member and president of Washington Local School Board, Washington Township trustee, past chief and founding member of Washington Township Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Santa's Express. Bill was also a member of the Scioto County Fair Board, the Portsmouth Elks BPOE 154, the Elks Tuesday Night Golf League and the Elks Bowling League. He was also a former Boy Scout leader and a Babe Ruth League baseball coach.

Along with his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two sisters, Rutha Herdman and Kathleen Jarrell; and a daughter
