Matt Shelton Hall, 69, of Minford, Ohio, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2008, at his residence in Minford, Ohio.

He was born in Kehoe, Ky., Jan. 5, 1939, a son of the late Day Hall and Amy Bear Hall. He was a retired carpenter, a member of the Carpenters Local 437 of Portsmouth, Ohio, and a member of the Portsmouth Moose Lodge. He loved Bluegrass music, fishing and his dog, Trevor, a black lab.

Surviving are two daughters, Tammy (Mike) Fisher and Angie (Tony) Snyder, both of Minford, Ohio; five sons, Steve (Laura) Hall of Mottville, Mich., David Hall and Leslie Hall, both of Minford, Ohio, James Hall of Sciotoville, Ohio, and Leroy Hall of Jones, Mich.; six sisters, Shirley (Shelby) Brown of Greenup, Ky., Joyce (Bill) Bryant and Wanda Daniels, both of Cincinnati, Ohio, Brenda Swayne of Columbus, Ohio, Phyllis O'Dell of West Portsmouth, Ohio, and Bonnie Hampton of Portsmouth, Ohio; one brother, Virgil (Carla-Jo) Hall of West Portsmouth, Ohio; a dear friend, Eunice McKenzie; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three sisters, Nannie Bell Hall, Margie Hall and Kathy Hall; two brothers, Billy Ray Hall and Troy Hall; and one granddaughter, Constant Joy Snyder.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with the Rev. Glenn Newsome and the Rev. Steve Hall officiating. Burial will be in the Hall Family Cemetery in Greenup, Ky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday.
