A Scioto County man has been charged with having sex with two underage girls, and it looks as if other victims will be named later.
Hector Reffit, 34, of Minford, was arrested and charged with one count of rape, a felony of the first degree -- but it doesn't end there.
"There will be more charges presented to the (Scioto County) grand jury," said Scioto County Sheriff's Detective Jodi Conkel.
Conkel indicated that when the case goes to the grand jury, the case will involve more victims.
Conkel said the sheriff's office found out about the complaint Thursday, interviewed Reffit and charged him all in one day.
According to Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini, the rape that resulted in the charges occurred in 1993.
Donini said the sheriff's office received two reports on Thursday from separate victims, both stating Reffit had started having sex with them at a very young age.
One said Reffit had sex with her from age 5 to age 11, and the other said he had sex with her at age 16.
Detectives then began the investigation which included locating the suspect at his Minford residence.
After further investigation, the suspect was arrested and charged with rape.
Reffit was incarcerated in the Scioto County Jail and held on $50,000 bond until his appearance in Portsmouth Municipal Court on Friday morning.
At his court appearance, bond was set at $50,000, and he is scheduled to return to court Monday morning.
A spokeswoman at the Scioto County Jail said Reffit is scheduled to return to court for a bond hearing Monday.
According to Portsmouth Municipal Court, he also has a preliminary hearing set for friday in Judge Russell D. Kegley's court room.
Donini said anyone with information regarding this case can contact Conkel at (740) 351-1091, and he said all callers would remain anonymous.
