An Ironton man was arrested Tuesday in Myrtle Beach, S.C., in an undercover Internet sting after he allegedly solicited a 16-year old boy for sex.

According to the South Carolina Attorney General Office, Stephen Krum, 38, of 1518 County Road, in Ironton, reportedly met a 16-year old boy while they were both guests at a Myrtle Beach resort. The next day, the boy claimed Krum solicited him for sex through a MySpace message center. The boy reported Krum to the police on Oct. 10, and a search warrant was executed on Krum's hotel room. During the search, police seized a laptop computer, digital camera and a number of computer-related items.

Krum turned himself into Myrtle Beach police on Tuesday and was charged with one count of criminal solicitation of a minor. The South Carolina Attorney General's Office called the charge a felony offense, punishable by up to 10 years of imprisonment.

Krum was reportedly being held in Myrtle Beach on $5,000 bond. The case will be prosecuted by the Attorney General's Office.

Myrtle Beach Police Department is a member of the Attorney General's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force, and this marks its 141st arrest.
