Republican Vice Presidential Candidate and Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin is scheduled to be in Chillicothe on Wednesday for a rally with supporters.

Palin will host what is being called a "Road to Victory Rally" at the Ross County Courthouse.

According to the campaign Web site, the doors will open at 1 p.m.

"A limited number of free tickets will be available today after noon at the Scioto County GOP Headquarters (409 Chillicothe Street) or by calling 353-9147," said Kay Reynolds Scioto County chairwoman of the McCain-Palin campaign.

Reynolds commented that she is quite excited about Governor Palin making an appearance in the area.

Palin's visit to Chillicothe will mean that both John McCain and Sarah Palin will have visited the area.

Presidential Candidate John McCain made a campaign stop in Portsmouth in July.

"I think its very important to the electorate to be able to personally see these people and listen to them," Reynolds stated.

Local Republicans and Reynolds also say they have not given up on a Palin visit the Scioto County area before the election.

"We are still hoping that she (Sarah Palin), before the election, may be able to stop in Portsmouth," Reynolds said.

"I personally have made a strong appeal to bring (John) McCain and (Sarah) Palin back to Scioto County before the election. But, every county in America wants them. I believe that Scioto County is the swing county of the swing counties," Dr. Terry Johnson Chairman of the Scioto County Republican party said.

Johnson commented that the impact of Palin coming to the area energizes the base of the party.

"It draws attention to the positive things that are going on in the McCain campaign. It draws national media attention to our hometown. All of those things are positive things." Dr. Johnson said.

Reynolds said the Ross County Court House is located at 2 North Paint Street.
