She was born to Peggy Joy Wickholm Bennett and Scott Brandon Bennett on Feb. 26, 2000, in Cincinnati. She bravely battled a congenital heart defect and cerebral palsy with a beautiful and contagious smile. Her life impacted all who knew her and she will be sorely missed. She attended Mason Heights Elementary School and All of Grace Baptist Church.
Besides her parents, she is survived by one sister, Anna Kathleen; two brothers, Samuel Scott and Luke Randall Bennett; her mamaw and papaw, Dennis and Diane Bennett of Minford; her grandma and grandpa, David and Anne Wickholm of Beaver Creek; great-grandmothers, Mary Helen Bennett and Geraldine Bender of Minford, Peggy Ross of Tucson, Ariz., and Joyce Wickholm of Evergreen, Colo.; aunts, Wendy Wurts and Lindsay (Marc) May of Minford, Heather Wickholm of Mount Sterling and Sharyne (Royce) Hunt of Lexington, Ky.; one uncle, Andy (Lisa) Bennett of Columbus; and cousins, Allison Wurts of Minford and Millie Hunt of Lexington.
She was preceded in death by great-grandfathers, Marion Bennett Jr., Elmer Bender, Donald Wickholm and Thomas Walthier; and cousins, Bridget Ellice Hunt and Kasey Jo Hunt.
Calling hours will be at the Shorten-Ryan Funeral Home in Mason on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. with private burial on Thursday at 11 a.m. There will be a memorial service to celebrate Elli's life at 7 p.m. on Thursday at Christ Church in Mason. Officiating will be Pastor David Hildebrand.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Elli Bennett Memorial Fund, The Aaron W. Perlman Center, c/o Cincinnati Children's Hospital, 3333 Burnet Ave., MCL 4013, Cincinnati, OH 45229, Attn: Sharon Anderson.
