Owen Cager Hartley, 83, of Minford, died Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at his residence.

Born Feb. 10, 1925, in Beaver, Ohio, a son of the late Mearill and Emily Jane Butler Hartley, he was a station manager at Bonded Oil, was employed at Croll Collier Publishing in Springfield, and was an Army WWII veteran.

He is survived by two sons, Owen Hartley of Idaho, and Richard A. Hartley of Springfield; two daughters, Beverly Sue Hartley of Ohio, and Mary Elizabeth Hartley of Alabama; two stepsons, Roger Miller of Alabama, and John Miller of Oregon; a sister-in-law, Faith Hartley of Minford; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Earl "Sandy" Hartley; and one sister, Mary Ellen Bevins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at Erwin-Dodson-Allen Funeral Home in Minford, with Jason Coriell and Paul Stamper officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Military rites will be conducted by James Irwin Post No. 622 American Legion following the service.
