Vernon Wright Jr., 51, of Oak Hill, died Oct. 13, 2008, at home.

He was born Sept. 27, 1957, in Portsmouth a son of the late Vernon Wright Sr. and Patricia Wright Risner.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Wright; four children, Curry Lynn (Levi) Gilliland of Portsmouth, Christopher Vernon Wright and Wade (Trudi) Rosenburg of South Webster, and Scott Rosenburg of Oak Hill; five grandchildren, Kay Lynn Jo Nunley, Levi Gilliland, Quintessia Rosenburg (Punkin), Skyler Rosenburg and newborn Emily Suzanne Rosenburg; three brothers, Jack D. Wright of Oak Hill, Larry Wright of Sciotoville and Jerry (Jill) Pauley of Jamestown; two sisters, Drema (Dave) Holbrook of Sciotoville and Jeannie (Paul) Hamm of Wheelersburg. Vernon had several nieces and nephews he was close to and many aunts and uncles that he shared his love with. He was also very close to his stepbrothers, Charles "Jep" Risner, Tim Risner and Conway "Junior" Risner.

He was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Connie Risner.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008, at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster. Burial will be at Jackson Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, and Sunday 1 to 2 p.m. at D.W. Swick in South Webster.
