Willard Lawrence Fields, 82, of Lucasville, Ohio, and a former resident of Portsmouth, Ohio, died Saturday, Oct. 11, 2008, in SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.

He was born in Ports-mouth, Ohio, Oct. 16, 1925, a son of the late Millard Lawrence Fields and Alvirda Jane Stone Fields. He was a WWII Army veteran and a member of the VFW in Hazel Park, Mich.

Surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Deborah Fields and Roger Frost of Minford, Ohio, and Kimberly Diane and Richard Ziegler of Palm Beach Shores, Fla.; two sons and their wives, William Dwight and Janice Fields of Suwanee, Ga., and Dustin D. and Belinda Fields of Warren, Mich.; one brother and his wife, Woodrow and Helen Fields of Abingdon, Va.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

He also was preceded in death by one daughter, Brenda Kay Fields; one son, Windy Lee Fields; four brothers, Granville, James, Steven and William Fields; and three sisters, Sylvia Griffith, Monnie Owens and Georgia Heller.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, at the Roberson Funeral Home in South Shore, Ky., with Pastor David Fields officiating. Burial will be in South Webster Cemetery in South Webster, Ohio, with military graveside services by the James L. Flannery American Legion Post 276 of South Shore, Ky. Friends may call at the Roberson Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday and from 9 a.m. until the funeral hour on Tuesday.
