Ralph Clarence Lane, 88, of St. Stephen, S.C., formerly of Portsmouth, Ohio, former owner and operator of Lane's Cabinet Shop, died Wednesday morning at his residence.

A memorial service will be held 4 p.m. Friday afternoon, Sept. 26, 2008, in the Chapel of Dial-Murray Funeral Home, Moncks Corner. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the hour of service on Friday.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Christian Outreach Ministries, P.O. Box 306, St. Stephen, SC 29479.

Mr. Lane was born July 22, 1920, in Kingsport, Tenn., a son of O'Conely Lane and Bonnie Mae Donaldson Lane. He was a graduate of Dungannon High School and was of the Baptist faith. He was a great cabinet maker.

Mr. Lane was preceded in death by two sons, Ronald W. Lane and David Ross Lane, and a foster sister, Mary Eyler.

Surviving are his wife, Mary Elizabeth Gilliam Lane; a daughter, Christena "Chris" King and her husband James of St. Stephen; two sons, Steven D. Lane and O'Conely Lane of St. Stephen; two brothers, William Lane of Belford, N.J. and Robert Lane of Webber City, Va.; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
