Ohio Lottery officials were in South Webster Wednesday, to inform Jeep Station employees they sold the winning Mega Millions Lottery ticket worth $15 million dollars for Tuesday night's drawing. Lottery officials also were on hand to present the station with a $15,000 check for selling the ticket.

T.J. Pasquale, Ohio Lottery sales representative for Region 6, District 604 of Athens, said the location did not sell a lot of tickets (32 were sold), and said it shows it could happen anywhere.

"This is the smallest town I can ever remember a ticket being sold in," he said.

The 2000 U.S. Census showed the population of South Webster at less than 1,000 people.

"We were excited in the Athens office. Our region is not populated like the other regions of the state. The odds for our region to have a winner is not as good," said Sherole Eaton, regional sales manager of Region 6 for the Ohio Lottery.

"We have been guessing at who the winner might be, but we have been eliminating all of our guesses. We have been calling and asking friends who come in and play all the time," said Jeep Fuel manager Cassie Cole.

The winner had not stepped forward as of Wednesday afternoon to claim their prize. Lottery. Store officials were hopeful the winner would come forward soon. The Mega Millions winning numbers were 13, 24, 39, 51 and 52.
