A traffic stop in Lucasville has resulted in the confiscation of 722 OxyContin pills, and the arrest of two Louisa, Ky., residents on their way to Easy Rider Biker Rodeo in Chillicothe.

Vickie L. Stepp and William F. Skeens are facings charges of possession of a schedule II substance, which is a first-degree felony, and trafficking in drugs, also a first degree felony.

At about 4:31 p.m. Friday, a 1998 Mazda 626 driven by Vickie Stepp was stopped on U.S. 23 in Lucasville on a speed violation.

Portsmouth Post Commander Lt. Mike Crispen said a search of the vehicle revealed 22 30-milligram OxyContin pills under the passenger seat.

A further search of the vehicle revealed 700 30-milligram OxyContin pills in a small container and $2,088 in cash.

The two were incarcerated in Scioto County Jail, and were arraigned Tuesday morning in Portsmouth Municipal Court.

Crispen said both bonded out Wednesday.
