A mid-afternoon accident on Ohio 73 Wednesday, took the life of one Ports-mouth woman.

According to the Portsmouth Post of Ohio State Highway Patrol, Donna Davis, 49, of Portsmouth, was traveling west on Ohio 73 near mile post 2 at about 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, in a 1999 Ford Taurus. Davis reportedly lost control at a right curve and went off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment and a culvert, then overturning.

Davis reportedly was wearing a seat belt, but still was killed in the crash. Scioto County Coroner Dr. Terry Johnson pronounced Davis dead on the scene, and the body was taken to Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.
