Legal clinic is Wednesday

Southeastern Ohio Legal Services will have a do-it-yourself legal clinic concerning domestic relations issues, including custody, visitation and name changes, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Robert Copley Meeting Room of the Portsmouth Public Library, 1220 Gallia St.

Required court forms will be provided at the clinic and court rules concerning the forms will be explained.

SEOLS is the legal aid law firm for low income people in Scioto County. For more information about SEOLS services and/or the clinic call (740) 354-7563 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is located at 800 Gallia St., Suite 700, Portsmouth.

Memory Walk is Saturday

The Alzheimer's Association of Greater Cincinnati's Memory Walk for Adams County will be Saturday at the Adams Lake State Park, Ohio 41 north, West Union.

The Memory Walk for Portsmouth will be Sept. 20 at Market Square in Portsmouth.

Memory Walk is an annual event that brings those affected by Alzheimer's disease, family members and community together in a show of love, remembrance and support. Proceeds from the walks directly benefit local programs and services as well as support of Alzheimer research efforts.

Mosquito spraying on Thursday

Ohio Pest Control in conjunction with the Rush Township trustees will conduct mosquito spraying from 8 to 11 p.m. Thursday. If inclement weather prevents the spraying, then spraying will be done Aug. 28 at the same time.

Anyone with respiratory problems should consider closing their windows and shutting off any window unit air conditioners until the fog has dissipated.

Bake sale benefits firemen

The ladies auxiliary of the Union Township Volunteer Fire Department will have a bake sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. (or until sold out) Saturday at the Union Township Fire Station No.1, Ohio 73, McDermott.

Also there will be registration for the Little Miss Flame and Mr. Sparkie available for children between kindergarten and fifth grade of Union Township.

All proceeds will benefit the firemen.
