Chief Deputy Jeff Lawless of Lawrence County Sheriff's Office announced Monday, the sheriff's office - with assistance from Lawrence County Drug and Major Crime Task Force - arrested two suspected drug dealers on Friday.

Kenneth Smith, of 96 Private Drive 8700 Ohio 7, Apt. 5, Proctorville, was arrested Friday, and charged with trafficking in drugs, possession of drugs, possession of criminal tools and having a weapon while under a disability.

Also arrested was Angela Baldwin, of 1522 Washington Ave., Apt. 2, Huntington, W.Va., charged with complicity to possession of drugs and complicity to trafficking drugs.

According to Lawless, officers have been investigating suspected drug activity at Smith's address for the past several months. During the investigation, officers reportedly were able to make controlled purchases of drugs. At about 11:30 p.m., officers executed a search warrant at Smith's residence and found 98 80-milligram OxyContin pills with a street value of about $8,000. Officers also found about $11,000 in cash, a firearm and criminal tools.

Both Smith and Baldwin were scheduled for arraignment in Lawrence County Municipal Court on Monday.
