'Bye Bye Birdie' performance is set
The Red Lion Theatre Company will present "Bye Bye Birdie" at 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday, Saturday and July 13, at the amphitheater stage at Greenbo Lake State Resort Park, 965 Lodge Road, Greenup, Ky. Admission will be $7 per person and $4 for groups of 10 or more seniors/students.
The play tells the story of a rock 'n' roll singer, Conrad Birdie, an Elvis Presley type, who's been drafted into the Army. In one last, big publicity stunt, Birdie will bid an All-American teenage girl goodbye with a kiss. A satire done with the fondest affection, "Bye Bye Birdie" gives insight into the everyday life that is very much a part of us all.
