A raid at a Tollesboro, Ky., residence has resulted in three people being arrested on a variety of drug charges.

Ronald Wayne Hardymon, Jr., 47, and Carrie Smith, 26, both of Tollesboro, were arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, second- and third-degree possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Douglas Hampton, 46, of Tollesboro, was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a third- degree felony, and possession of marijuana.

The Lewis County (Ky.) Sheriff Department had received information Monday night regarding possible drug activity at Hardymon's residence in Tollesboro.

Using the information, the Lewis County Sheriff Department was able to obtain a search warrant for Hardymon's residence.

Deputies from the Lewis County Sheriff Department raided the home about 8 p.m.

Officers with the Maysville Police Department K-9 Unit searched the home, and uncovered illegal narcotics and paraphernalia, some of which had been concealed inside pillow cases.

All three were lodged in the Lewis County Detention Center.

Lewis said the Lewis County Sheriff Department and Maysville Police Department are continuing to work together in an attempt to eradicate ongoing illegal drug activity in their service area.

Lewis said anyone with information of suspected drug activity may report it to the Lewis County Sheriff Department tipline at (606) 796-0123, or send the tips to tips@lewiscountysheriff.org. He said callers may remain anonymous.
