Multiple charges have been filed against a Scioto County man, after an investigation by the Scioto County Sheriff's Office led to his arrest.

Michael Ryan Dingess, 18, of Franklin Furnace, will face one count of burglary, a felony of the second degree; two counts of forgery, a felony of the fifth degree; and three counts of misuse of a credit card, a misdemeanor of the first degree.

Scioto County Sheriff Marty V. Donini said a Green Township deputy is investigating a burglary that occurred in Franklin Furnace on Monday.

The Scioto County Sheriff's 911 dispatch center received a call Monday, reporting a Disterdick Road residence had been broken into and several items were missing, including jewelry and a credit card.

That's when the Green Township deputy responded to the residence and took a report, starting the investigation, which later led to the recovery of the stolen property, and the arrest of Dingess.

Donini said more charges will be presented to a Scioto County grand jury at a later date.

Dingess was placed in Scioto County Jail on a $15,000 bond, and appeared in Portsmouth Municipal Court Tuesday, where he was allowed to sign his own bond on all the charges except for the burglary charge. That bond was set at $15,000, and he remains incarcerated. He will return to court on the burglary charge on Friday.

Donini said anyone with information concerning the burglary is being requested to contact Deputy Gabe Metzler at the Scioto County Sheriff's Office at (740) 354-7566. All calls will remain anonymous.
