Man arrested in lawn mower theft

The Scioto County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection with the theft of a finishing mower from Minford Little League.

Floyd Cordle, 66, of Minford, has been charged with one count of receiving stolen property, a fifth-degree felony.

Sheriff Marty V. Donini said on April 18, the sheriff's 911 dispatch center received a call of a possible location of the stolen mower.

Deputies responded to that location and observed a mower that matched the description of the one that had been stolen.

Deputies were able to match the serial numbers and recovered the stolen mower, and then returned it to Minford Little League. The investigation continued, which later resulted in a warrant being filed.

Deputies then arrested Cordle, and charged him with receiving stolen property.

According to the sheriff's office, Cordle has been released from Scioto County Jail.

Donini said anyone with information concerning the theft should contact the Scioto County Sheriff's Office at (740) 354-7566. All calls will remain anonymous.
